BERLIN
This Brandenburg frigate was named after the former capital of Germany as
long ago as 1674. It is known that this vessel was built in Holland and resembled
a galleon. There are also records of a few naval skermish: at the end of 1676
the "BERLIN" captured the Swedish packed schooner "Maria" and 1675 overpowered
the French frigate "Royal De Dunkerque".

Cette fregate Brandenburg fut baptisee ainsi en 1674, conformement au premier
nom de la capitale allemande.On sait que ce vaisseau a ete construit aux Pays
Bas et ressemblait a un gallion. Il existe ainsi des archives de quelques
escarmouches navales: a la fin de l'annee 1676, le'Berlin" captura la goelette
suedoise "Maria" et en 1675, il prit le pas sur la fregate Francaise "Royal
De Dunkerque".
