The H.M.S Victory remains the most famous flagships of the British navy.
It was named Abbey de West Minister by the historian PHILLIP WATTS. Launched
in May 1765, the H.M.S Victory, 5th of the name, needed 6 years to be built
before it could be in use.
The H.M.S Victory took part in several battles
under the command of SIR HORATIO NELSON, whose most famous battle remains
the one of Trafalgar in 1805 against the French navy and Spanish navy. Sir
NELSON was killed during this battle and bought to England in a barrel of
brandy. Nowadays, the Victory is anchored in the port of Portsmouth.

en Mai 1765, le H.M.S Victory 5eme du nom, necessita 6 annees de construction
avant de prendre la mer.
Le H.M.S Victory participa a de nombreuses batailles
sous le commandement de Sir HORATIO NELSON, don't la plus celebre reste celle
de Trafalgar en 1805 contre les flottes francaises et espagnoles. C'est au
cours de cette bataille que Sir NELSON fut tue et ramene en Angleterre dans
un fut d'eau de vie. De nos jours le Victory est ancre dans le port de Portsmouth.
